How long have you been skiing?
19 years, but only 10 years telemark. I have tried many Winter Sports disciplines including Bobsleigh and Biathlon.
What are your skiing aspirations?
To be the best I can be and to rise up through the rankings. We are not a naturally regarded skiing nation but I want to makes heads turn and for people to say 'Wow, look at the Brits, aren't they doing well!'
What have been your best of times in the sport?
Being selected to represent the British Army in the first Telemark Championships and also skippering the side. This was quickly replaced by becoming the British Team Captain and leading a team on the World Cup.
What have been your worst of times in the sport?
Realising that money has a lot to do with being able to compete at the highest level - funding does not come easily and there have been many a sleepless night whilst trying to get sponsorship for the season.
Where is your favourite place to ski?
I used to swear by European skiing and then I discovered Canada and the US - I have now matured and my opinion has changed radically - I go where ever the snow is the best. This is not always the easiest thing to do but I am normally quite lucky. Europe has the charm that I like in ski resorts and Austria is definitely the nicest place to ski for me!
What would be your advice to young telemarkers?
It looks really hard and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't - but then who wants to do something that is easy, where is the reward in that? If you are willing to put your mind to it then you can really become very good and you could see yourself competing at a high level and maybe see yourself on a podium in the future - it is up to you.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Getting a team up and running and organizing sponsorship to help with equipment has been a dog task. I have single handedly organized the team for the 2008 season - this has involved buying equipment, booking travel, organizing race training, advising on physical training and all sorts. I don't want a medal I just want to see GB achieving some good results on the World Stage.
What do you hope to achieve this season?
Top 30 at the World Cup
Is there anything you do before the race?
Get up really early, have a leisurely breakfast and then take a look at the course. I don't have any superstitions, so I don't wear the same pair of underpants for every race or paint my left big toe or anything like that - I once had a lucky pair of shin guards that helped me score goals - but that is another story!
What are your other favourite sports?
I love mountaineering and ice climbing. I am a keen rugby player and like to do most sports.
What do you do to relax?
I don't
If you had a superpower what would it be?
Levitation or flying - air fares are so expensive
What is your nickname?
Nobby
If you were not a ski racer what would you be doing?
I have a job - Telemarkers cannot afford to not work. I am an Officer in the British Army
Who is your secret crush?
It is not a secret - Gemma Russell from Snowsport GB!
What's on your ipod?
I have 7,500 songs on my ipod - so everything from ACDC to Val Doonican and dare I say it Steps!
What is your favourite food?
I love all food, but spicy food is my weakness.
Can you tell us something no-body else knows about you?
I don't sleep
What song is most likely to make you move on the dance floor?
ACDC - You shook me all night long, or Spanish Tap Music
What can you be heard saying most often e.g. your favourite catchphrase/motto?
Whatever mate - get a life.

How long have you been skiing?
My first skis were wooden with leather boots in the garden, and then I went to Glencoe when I was seven. Modern skis and the Alps were a huge step forward after that introduction.
What is your preferred discipline?
With an alpine background I prefer the GS element of Telemark.
What are you skiing aspirations?
To be the best I can and compete for as long as I am competitive; but also to ensure the next generation can be even better.
If you were not a ski racer what would you be doing?
I am a soldier. Telemark does not receive any funding to allow us the liberty of not doing anything else. I would like to sail around the world as well as climb and ski in the major mountain ranges.
Who is your secret crush?
I wouldn't mind a date with Katherine Jenkins.
What's on your ipod?
A wide range, from classical to 70's, 80's and 90's stuff.
What is your favourite food?
Chocolate, without a doubt!
Can you tell us something no-body else knows about you?
That wouldn't be a good way of keeping secrets.

Is Abba too sad?
What would you like to say to young skiers?
Go for it, it's healthy and fun.
