Functions of Snowsport GB
Team Selection and Management
The primary role of Snowsport GB is the selection, training and management of British Teams in all of the FIS (International Ski Federation) disciplines within its control. These include:-
- Alpine (Olympic status)
- Freestyle (Olympic status)
- Snowboard (Olympic status)
- Nordic – Cross-country and Ski Jumping (Olympic status)
- Speed/Grass/Telemark
All other disciplines, including Masters, Children and Disabled sections, rely on volunteer management and self-generated funding to run their programmes.
- Promotion of Team and Team Sponsors
- Seeding of British Alpine Competitors
- Representation of British Snowsports within the FIS (International Ski Federation)
- Implementation of FIS Rules
- Snowsport GB is also responsible for:

- monitoring regulations relating to doping control
- administration of British participation in FIS competitions
- ensuring individual athletes do not contravene any of the FIS or IOC regulations
- organisation of British Championships
- Management and Selection of Athletes within Olympic Team
