Ski Club Sponsor British Hopefuls

Ski Club GBThe Ski Club of Great Britain is sponsoring five British skiers in their quest to become Britain’s best.

The Ski Club has been sponsoring ski racer Ed Drake (22, Kingston-upon-Thames) for the past eight years and this year, TJ Baldwin (17, Norwich), Tristram Adamson (10, Alpe d’Huez) and brother Alex (11, Alpe d’Huez),  and the number one British Ski Cross female, Emily Sarsfield (24, Durham) have become the latest athletes to be sponsored by the Ski Club.

“We have been sponsoring Ed Drake for many years and he is now on the Europa Cup circuit and a real hope for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. With snowsports continuing to grow in UK and the standard of our national teams getting higher and higher, we thought it was time the Ski Club upped its support for athletes who are showing potential and helped them become the next world champions or Olympic medalists” explained Caroline Stuart-Taylor, CEO of the Ski Club.

In addition to the five sponsored skiers, the Ski Club has also made a commitment to support seven other riders by providing them with exposure on the Ski Club website, www.skiclub.co.uk, which will hugely raise their profiles to the millions of snowsports fans logging on. Riders include snowboarder Chris Southwell, freeride skiers Darryl Ball and Nick Southwell, mogul skiers Martin Nankoo and Ellie Koyander and freestyle skiers James and Robert Machon.

www.skiclub.co.uk now was a dedicated ‘Racing and Riders’ section that showcases the profiles of the Ski Club Riders, has profiles on the British teams plus all the latest racing and event news. The new area can be found in the Info and Advice section of www.skiclub.co.uk
